Here is a link to the photos of our first trip in Troopy. We started in Geelong and ended up home in Sydney, via a big loop including Mt Gambier, Broken Hill and various national parks in between. The photos are fairly self explanatory, and I'll post some stories from our travels to go with these happy snaps soon.

Welcome to nomading
So we are well on the way to the ultimate not-quite-grey nomad adventure. I feel that I should at least make brief mention of and explain the "not quite" caveat on the grey nomad bit. Obviously, in a strictly literal sense, I am the not-quite-grey half of the nomad team!! In a more abstract sense, our inaugral trip made us realise that we really don't qualify to join the ranks of the true grey nomads. Besides a lovely grey rinse, here are the essentials of being a TRUE grey nomad:
So, that's the intro. Next time some details and pics of our Troopy Test Run - the inaugral and trial trip to see if we thought we could pull this nomading thing off - we reckon we can!!
- An absolute minimum of 4 axels and 8 wheels, the more the better
- A caravan of at least 6 m length, although the longer the better really
- Only the bare essentials inside including fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, TV, DVD player (dishwasher optional but prefered)
- Clearly marked call signs and UHF channel
- Ability to depart the caravan park before 8:30 am
